The Tenor voice of Jermaine Smith has been described as “superb” and ”spellbinding.” His extensive work with Porgy and Bess has taken him to Japan , Germany , Sweden , Austria , Netherlands , Italy , Madrid , Houston Grand Opera, Opera Pacific, LA Opera and the esteemed Washington National Opera.  Jermaine was described by the Washington Post as having "…the moves and charisma of a born showman...." and in the LA Times: "....Jermaine Smith's flashy song-and-dance Sportin' Life stole the show. When he is on it, the stage is his: Your eye goes elsewhere at your own risk.  Still, there is little danger of that given his crafty, look-at-me acrobatic dance routines and his ability to impart sly innuendo to nearly every finely articulated word and pitch. "It Ain't Necessarily So" became a one-man show."  His work with the St. Louis Symphony under the baton of Robert Ray has garnered many accolades. Upcoming engagements include appearances with Lyric Opera Chicago, Théâtre National de L'Opéra-Comique, Santa Fe Symphony, The Granada Festival, Caen Opera, and Opera Luxembourg.  Mr. Smith attended New England Conservatory of Music and is on the voice faculty at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
